It's cold out there.

A small flock of White-crowned Sparrows have been hanging out in the yard. Strikingly handsome with a black and white striped crown...quite dapper. Often foraging on the ground, they also hang out in the yew bushes outside my window (almost seem to be watching me...) and at the feeders for sunflower seeds. This morning I heard one singing. From what I've read on All About Birds website, and Audubon field guide, they are probably only passing through, but glad they've stayed for a number of days, maybe with the cold front moving down from Canada...brrrr. Freeze warning tonight. Make sure the feeders are full.
